| The North Hampshire Orchid Society was formed on 22nd September 1985 by a group of people enthusiastic about orchids and the society now has around 35 members. We meet regularly, usually on the third Sunday of the month in East Oakley Village Hall, Hill Road, East Oakley, RG23 7JJ - the exceptions for 2010 are listed on the Programme page.
At the meetings, we have a variety of speakers talking on a wide range of orchid topics, members days and refreshments. Some speakers will bring plants which can be purchased. On members day, you may bring plants to sell. North Hampshire Orchid Society appreciates a donation of 10% of the value of your sales. Meetings include a show table, a competition table and a raffle to raise funds for North Hampshire Orchid Society with prizes donated by members. You are welcome to display your orchids on the show table and/or the competition table. Rosettes are awarded for the best plants on the competition table (plants must have been in your possession for a minimum of six months). Tips on preparing your plants for display are found on the Showing Orchids page. As well as our occasional shows, we in North Hampshire Orchid Society are also invited to set up a display at other shows, including the British Orchid Growers' Association Summer Orchid Fayre. This is another opportunity to display plants. North Hampshire Orchid Society is a friendly society with beginners and the experienced growers welcome.
